My newest series of small paintings, called VHS Paintings.
The idea came from memories of the many trips to our local video rental store in the early 2000s with my father. The shelves lined with VHS cases felt like a gallery of their own — every cover a promise of a new adventure.
I've taken that idea and translated it into small paintings on wood, each depicting a particular film scene. They're often not the obvious moments, but rather brief, fleeting ones that hold a very personal kind of magic for me.
The semi-transparent VHS case serves as both frame and part of the artwork itself, creating a subtle veil that heightens the sense of memory.
Each painting comes housed in a VHS case, ready to be displayed just as it is.
